Improving Public Policies

Policy and budget changes are important tools for achieving community safety. Government and other large institutions have multi-billion dollar budgets and the power to serve our community on a large scale. Our policy work seeks to build a resilient, victim-centered, and culturally competent safety infrastructure and to uplift the importance of social and economic programs to prevent harm. This section describes the multiple strategies we use to shift policy and resource allocations toward a more holistic and long-term approach to community safety.
